8 months is super young to drop to 1 nap so he may actually be overtired. What wake windows are you doing?
@GMF he wakes up 9/10am after waking multiple times in the night and has his first nap at around 2/3ish He did have his other nap at 6/7 but I found he wouldn’t go to sleep until 1/2am Since he’s been born he’s struggled with sleep and needs a lot of attention and has to be doing something 24/7 and he fights his sleep like no tomorrow. His dads side of the family have told me to cut out his nap as the other baby in the family only has one nap and sleeps 7-7 so I feel like what am I doing wrong 😩x
@Stephanie thankyou!
Staying consistent with your schedule is key ! I remember trying to switch my daughter’s nap time when we transitioned to 1 nap a day, and she had the hardest time & wouldn’t go to sleep bc she was overtired. It’s so hard sometimes, but remember you’re doing your very best ❤️ I wouldn’t have him take a nap so late, my daughter’s bedtime is 7:30 -8. I always do a bath at 7, she knows it’s time for bed. When she used to fight me with sleep, I went in every 5 mins & would put my hand on her back so she knows I’m here for her, wait for her to calm down then leave & repeat the process until she finally went to sleep. He will get it after a few days ❤️ you got this mama !!!
@Rachael Thankyouu!! ❤️
@Kya 7-7 is a dumb thing people like to push as if it’s the “right” way for a baby to sleep and some kids will simply never sleep that much overnight and that’s totally fine! I would try waking at the same time every day (within 30 min, it helps set their circadian rhythm) and try for a consistent nap time as well. If your baby can handle longer wake windows that’s fine as well, all babies are different but maybe try closer to a 2, 3, 4 schedule and see if that works? Super normal for them to wake overnight a lot as this age though. How do you usually get him to sleep/back to sleep? Any medical red flags like oral ties, reflux, sleeping with mouth open, snoring?
My girls same doesn't sleep till 12-1 atm :( and wakes during the night means she doesn't actually start her day till later than we would like. Every keeps telling me to try routine but I've tried everything and I can't let her cry it out as she will hold her breath to a point I have to breath in her face 😩 she's had a chest infection been poorly the last month and now won't even sleep in her room only either with me or in next to you 🥲😣
When does your little one wake from Last nap and when’s bedtime? Xx
My baby is the same we've now got a nap at 11 everyday in her pram and a 2nf nap around 2-3 in our bedroom as she's still with us the blinds are closed door shut she feeds to sleep but she is a fighter off sleep however I've found bringing her to the bedroom has helped. Night time usually bath and bed around 8ish but she is up all night and only thing settled her is boob. She just dream feeds all night. So it's real hard last night she was up alot. She's never slept through her dad didn't until 2 half. God knows when she'll improve she can't eveb do a long stretch of sleep 🤦♂️ xx
@Rachel he wakes up at 4:30 then it’s dinner time for 5:30 then bath and bedtime for 7! He goes does in his bed in his room and will go to sleep however he will wake up at 10 and refuse to go back to sleep it’s like he has had a Power Nap instead of him fully settling for bed
@Carla my little one is the same he holds his breath if he is in his next to me and he doesn’t want to or can’t get to sleep so it’s hard for me to leave him to self sooth himself to sleep xx
Im in the same boat!
