If due in summer holidays…

Do we get paid for summer holidays as usual and then mat leave starts from first day back at work (September)? Or do they start mat leave in August?

My due date was 20th of august and my maternity leave started on my due date so when I filled my form in for maternity leave I had to show a maternity exception form by my midwife. I would have liked it to start in September but it goes with your due date. Incase, you have baby early like in July you can request a early maternity

Your maternity leave can't start any later than the day baby is born. So if you're going to work up until the end of term then give your due date as your planned maternity leave start date, and then update HR of when baby is actually born

My baby was due 12th August so my mat leave started 12th August even though baby arrived on the 15th

My school allowed me to put my maternity start date as ‘the date the baby arrives’ on my forms (not due date in case baby arrived late). They then said my maternity leave would start the next day. So our baby was born on 8th August and my mat leave started on the 9th.
