I’m back to work Monday Tuesday my boy is nearly 6 months now. X

Do you have family looking after your little one or childcare?x

My partner has him at least one of the days if not two as those are usually his days off. If not my MIL has him x

Just my opinion and I’m lucky but he won’t be going into childcare until he can communicate with me properly x

I'm not, I stopped when I was pregnant and became a sahm to my eldest and will continue with that. It's so hard but we make it work. My eldest was struggling without me home, even part time so I stopped and he is doing so great now, plus, childcare for 2 kids cost more than my pt min wage job so there was no reason to work when we'd be even poorer if I did🤷🏼‍♀️

Dropped down to 3 days a week when trying for a baby. So going back 3 days but hoping I can go to 2 if my husband gets a new job (he’s looking) It’s Sundays, Tuesdays and one other day (it was Wednesday when pregnant but I think it will change as I’m going back to a slightly different job and going from working nights to days) . My MIL will be having her on the Tuesdays and husbands got her on the Sundays as he works a 9-5 standard week. Then hopefully it’s my dad or childminders for the extra day. I’ve never wanted to go to work just so my child can go to nursery and we looked at the numbers. My whole wage would go to her nursery fees if I went back to working 5 days a week. So it was pointless.

I’m looking at going back in April, whether it’s part time or full time is still undecided but I will definitely be back full time from September! x

I am going back to work next month when my boy is nearly 7 months old - dropping my hours to 33 per week as I'm a nurse so 3 12 hour shifts, lucky my work is letting me do set days no nights wahoo! I feel so guilty I didn't take the 9 months maternity 😫 but it is what it is! What do you do for work lovely? X

Going back to work in February 2 days a week a little sad that it’s come round so quickly! But same time looking forward to it 😊 I’ve already done 6 days work since on maternity leave just to help them out and to get used to the idea of being back at work xx

Would love to stay at home but have to go back in June. We just can’t afford one salary right now. Luckily I’m able to go back part time!

Have to go back to work in April as can’t afford not to 🥺 I’m going to work 40 hours over 4 days and so is my partner, my mum will have him one day and he will be with a childminder for 2 days a week. Dreading it 😭

My husband and I both dropped down to part time when I went back to work after my first. My oldest goes to nursery 2 days a week. Personally I feel like it’s the best of all worlds. I get to keep my career but have a better work/life balance, my husband gets more time with the kids, and the kids also get a lot out of going to nursery. I do appreciate that we are in a very privileged position to do so, though, and it’s not an option for everybody. But for anyone thinking about it, I highly recommend!

Going back to work full time in april/may. My work does 4 day working week so I’ll still get paid 5 days wage but only be in 4 days, and then my MIL will have him one day, and my mum will have him another so he’ll be in nursery for 2 days a week which I’m ok with as he will be able to socialise with other children. I know a lot of the staff members at the nursery and I’m friends with people who have their children there so I know it’s a safe place for him. If I didn’t have people to care for him I would definitely not go back to work as it’d make more sense for me to just get benefits rather than work because nursery is that expensive!

My LO is 6mo, I’m taking my full 39 weeks SMP and will be back mid April. I always worked from home but gonna drop down to 20-24hrs per week and get a top up from UC x

Can’t afford to live off one salary for us, it also means my husband will be working basically just to put her through nursery full time. We have no family in the area to help us so we have no choice. I’d love to stop working and stay at home but I go back to work in June when she’s just turned 10 months

Hopefully going back 3 days a week from 5.

I need to go back but my employer is amazing and with their matched contributions and annual leave, I’m not due back til July and even then I have a phased return so I’m not full time til October.

I’m going back to work when he’s 1 for 4 days a week x

I was hoping to take a year but it's just not financially viable. Looking at going back 4 days from end of May instead 🙃
