We haven’t done much yet as she’s not sitting properly- but we’re actively starting now. We’ve tried with prune puree atm, and we’ve tried her with some rusks to gnaw on. We did a small shop earlier (I don’t eat fruit or veg) and bought some avocados, strawberries, cucumber, bread so she can have some toast, cheerios and weetabix.
He has his own breakfast and we’ve tried porridge (we blended the oats) with different fruits, weetabix with fruit and on its own, porridge bars, egg strips and toast. We also give him a bit of whatever we are having for dinner as he has cmpa so can’t have all elements. So like tonight we had chicken, squash and kale curry so he had some chicken strips, rice and squash fingers for BLW ☺️
@Tara I would save the cheerios for when she’s developing her pincer grasp, they’re great practice for that! 9 months ish…
Ella's kitchen book has some great and easy recipes. I make something and freeze it in ice cube trays. My LO favourites are bean chilli, cod and ratatouille, Brocolli cheese chickpea pasta, lentil curry. These are all things you can cook easily in a pan and then whiz in a blender. For breakfast she loves mushroom, tomato and black beans cooked with a little paprika and blended. I've not tried finger food yet I'm too scared!
I’ve tried my girl with: Egg bites Scrambled egg Avocado toast (or just avocado puréed) Porridge with any fruit puree Weetabix with fruit mashed in Blended fruit Homemade smoothies Greek yoghurt with fruit Berry pancakes Banana pancakes We started with lunch and now adding in tea so her dad can join us 💗
