Sarah's trick worked for me too!
I just started using this cradle cap brush by Frida, called DermaFrida & Baby Dove hydrating shampoo. So far, good. & I also keep his hair & scalp moisturized with coconut oil. Works wonders for the skin too, especially for baby acne. Just be sure to do a patch test first to test for an allergic reaction
@Sarah @Kailynn did ya’ll wash it out or leave it in??
Wash out the oil? No, I left it in. I wash his hair with the Shampoo, massage it with the cradle cap brush. Comb it out a little to get the flakes out that loosened up. Rinse it all out & put the coconut oil in
@jasmine I put baby oil on, let it rest for about 30 mins, then gently combed for a while, getting as much off as I could. Then washed using her shampoo and a little silicone scrubby, rinsed well. Once dry, I combed again to get flakes that were in the hair. Wait like 3 days and repeat. Just to give time for natural oils to return after the shampooing
@Steffani yup! My mom, who has been a babysitter/nanny for many years and for many different families, said the exact same thing. She does leave the oil on for a an hour or two and uses a toothbrush to get the flakes off the hair strands but basically the same. I remember when she did it to my baby brother and it worked great! She did it with my baby too, but since he was so young, she only took off some (it still wasn’t very visible or noticeable). But still works great!
i don’t know if you’re pumping or breastfeeding but if you are breast milk treats it so well, you can do milk baths or just apply it directly a few times
My sons doc prescribed him shampoo
Baby oil and a fine tooth comb is what our pediatrician recommended! I use the honest brand and it’s their calm with lavender💜
