@Alexa so the young children that are in the "what's that? and constantly questioning "why?" to everything phase, you don't think those children will hear it and go mum, what's that??
I grew up in a fairly conservative household as that’s just the norm given my background so whilst I understand where you’re coming from - I do also thinks times are changing. But without seeing or knowing what ad you’re referring to it’s difficult to judge. For example - if it was just about vaginal dryness - I wouldn’t personally mind my child being exposed to that because for me it’s the same as an ad about cracked heels or achey muscles. It’s biology. But if the actors are talking about the quality of their sex life, yes it’s inappropriate for kids but also it’s one of those things where it’s do at your own risk you know? For example - if your kid is exposed to watching a channel which would have this type of ad, then surely that same channel could also be showing a reality tv programme with inappropriate behaviour or a day time tv drama with violence which is sooo common. I just don’t think the ads would be played on a kids channel or in the middle of children programs
Nope they won’t question in detail you say it’s the tv they generally would accept that you think of it as an issue and react like it is will make them react more
I guess what I’m saying is: it just sounds like the ad was shown on a channel a child shouldn’t have been watching anyway. Even if it was day time. Because back in the day when we didn’t have freeview and satellite tv etc and only a few channels then programs were a bit more time sensitive. But we have unlimited access to an array of channels and programs these days where we watch on demand, so the same rules no longer apply!
I don’t remember seeing these adverts on any of the kids channels in my house?
It’s you most kids won’t bat an eye at this you notice it but not them !
