Potty training

Hello! My eldest daughter is 2 years 9months and we’re on week two of potty training. She done a poop and a wee on the potty once but she just stares at me and goes on the floor or in her knickers, I feel so lost some days it’s like we’re getting somewhere other days it’s like we’ve taken a jump back, feeling very defeated by it, she’s ready and shows so much interest in it we’ve got reward charts, we give massive praise to her when she does go or even just takes herself to try, I’m at a loss Any advice?

I personally wouldn’t do rewards because they might learn to only do something if they get a reward. But when she’s peeing or pooping or just on the toilet are you right next to them. Or are you giving them space. I’d give space. My son doesn’t like to pee or poop when we are right next to him

@Gabrielle she had a potty next to the sofa so if she needs us we’re there but she has her space too, but she also seems to be weary of the one at nursery too

Naked waist down and then slowly introduce clothes (at home). We’re 4 weeks in and the accidents are less. Introduced rewards but have phased them out to a reward when we have a dry day. I started to slowly reduce prompts and I think he definitely felt more relaxed about the process
