How did your newborn outgrow the car seat already??

@Tanya he’s 7 months 19lbs and 2 and a half feet and it seems like his car seat is uncomfy for him and small

Ah so not a newborn, ty for editing the post bc I was hella confused haha. No advice here as I haven't hit that stage yet was just curious how it was possible

If you are in the UK, I recommend joining the Car Seat Safety UK group on Facebook, they are really helpful with seat recommendations based on babies predicted height and weight in the future

I'm in your boat soon, my 6 month old is nearly 19 lbs and 26 inches. There's usually car seat safety groups for your country on Facebook, they can have some great recommendations and lots usually have safety technicians in them for recommendations. If you're in Canada, send me a message, I just was told about the Canadian one, I can send you the name or link to it

I really like the Clek Foonf! We got it because our Graco car seat rounded my son's lower back and caused him a lot of pain. We spent a ridiculous amount of money on chiropractic to fix it and wish we went with the Foonf from the beginning. He's way more comfortable and has better posture in the Foonf. It also has a rebound bar for rear facing and is built like a tank. The law in the US does not require car seat companies to share the results of their crash tests, just if it passes or fails. Last I checked , Clek is the only one that does share results. They even break down what the federally regulated criteria is for each measurement. Their car seats are made without flame retardants and in the newest version of the Foonf, you can zip the fabric off the car seat to wash (for the inevitable toddler mess)! They're on the pricey side but completely worth it.

Wait how do you know if they outgrow it???

@Makenzie my baby’s feet hang out and his head too almost the straps almost don’t fit over his shoulders in the correct way

You need to look on the side of the car seat. I doubt they grew out already. It’s usually like 35lbs and like 33 inches tall. So just look on the side of the car seat.

If the newborn car seat really is that low and baby grew out then the Gracie car seats are great. The convertible ones

M’y baby has been over 22 pounds since her 7 months and she likes being more thigh in her car seat, it makes her fall asleep. She is now 24 pounds at 10 months. Normally the baby car seat allows for way more than 19 pounds! The chicco one is 35 pounds
