When did your baby start walking?

Tips on getting my 11 month old walking? We try everything. Walkers , holding his hands and waste while standing him up. He stands up on his own perfectly. He just refuses to take steps.

No walking yet. Still have time till you need to worry. What a cutie 💙

He's been walking along things since 9mos, but actually just started walking unassisted this weekend! Walkers are actually counterproductive in learning to walk. All "container" methods inhibit proper stance and motion. The only assisted options that are recommended are the ones they stand behind and push. However, not all kiddos like those, either. The best thing to do is to give ample floor space and let baby do what babies do! Safe things to pull up on and cruise around, and he will be off to the races before you know it!

My son just turned 11 months on the 12th and he's still not walking either. His legs are strong and he takes off in the walker but he won't walk yet.

17 month old x

I was trying just like you, then I’ve noticed with my girl that she does a lot better when I just let her be, sometimes I’m cooking or doing something else and she stands up and give some steps, when she looks at me I tell her she did a good job, if not, I let her try again or do her thing, I’ve seen a lot more improvement doing that. They take their time and many baby’s don’t walk till way later, your sweet boy is already advanced standing up, when you blink he will be walking ☺️

Our first walked before ten months, our second at nearly 15 months :) they all do it in their own time :)

Walking unassisted since 10 months (2 days before technically). I never used a walker and almost never had her in any type of carrier except for when I was at the store or on walks. Is he standing for long periods? There’s such a long range of what’s developmentally normal and it depends on personality too. It doesn’t matter yet. Just keep doing what you’re doing and limiting time spent in different types of chairs and carriers. Walkers and bouncers are actually counterintuitive because they don’t use most of the muscles they would to walk. That’s what pediatricians say

Walking unassisted at 9 months. She just had a lot of interest in it so we bought a push walker and she used that for a bit and let her hold onto our hands other times. It all depends on interest levels and leaning into that.

Walking unassisted the last two weeks. Been trying to walk and cruising since 9.5 months. I used push walkers when my daughter got to cruising

Mine took her first step when she was still 8 months.. she has always try to stand up by herself and take step. At 10 months she is walking pretty good with shoes on the grass or uneven surfaces, just a lot of floors time and no container or walker
