My biggest advice would be to wait until they are 2.5 years old plus, there’s no harm having a potty in the bathroom now and making sure they see you use the toilet, but other than that I wouldn’t attempt anything. When they are ready, go straight to underwear and commit. We found the toilet seat attachment with steps better than using a potty, as it played in to her wanting to be a big girl like us.
Thank you! I was being told I should start at 18 months so I was concerned I haven't even tried. She doesn't see me on the toilet, playing big girl is a good point ,thank you!
I started early but she wasn’t ready so we tried again at 2.5 and she’s took to it really well without hard work this time
