Feeding a bottle last thing at bedtime..

We still feed our son a bottle right before popping into bed, does anyone else still do this? Worried about his teeth as we clean them before the milk. Really feel like I’m doing everything wrong at the minute as his sleep has gone really backwards. 😢

I'm worrying about this too! I've started reducing the amount of milk to hopefully remove it completely but I'm worried it's going to upset the bedtime routine.

My son still has his, we brush his teeth, it's just what he loves, feel bad taking it away x

I do. & won’t stop until she’s fully dropped that bottle. It’s our only bottle and I’m sure it can’t harm them too much, my LG cleaning her teeth is awful I can’t force her mouth open so rarely get to do it. My LG’s sleep has also been horrific the last 8 weeks. Waking during the night for like 3hrs, would wake up screaming and then be just awake. We’re only just getting her sleeping through again and she’s slept through from about 10 weeks old😴😴 You’re not doing anything wrong ❤️❤️ x

Someone in here suggested doing a good teeth brush at bath time then a quick brush before bed and we've been doing this since because I sometimes used to forget to do it after milk but would never forget at bathtime x

Yeah mine has an 8/9oz bottle before bed, I'll stop when he wants me to stop giving it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I brush his teeth after then continue our bedtime routine 🥰

You shouldn’t brush teeth 30 mins either side of milk/ food as it will destroy their enamel. Could you swap the bottle out for a cup? The bottle is the biggest issue here as it encourages milk to pool around the teeth x

We moved my LO bottle up. We now do bottle, story, go upstairs, brush teeth, (this is when we used to do the bottle previously,) another quick short story and into his bed. It took 2-3 days for him to accept the change in routine and he now settles really quickly

@Yasmin thank you- we actually use a Dr Brown toddler sippy bottle (transition bottle apparently) so not the one he had when he was little xx

@Ina I think we might try this thank you x

He also had a good teeth clean after breakfast and after bath- it’s just he’s so sleepy after his bottle, cleaning his teeth again would unsettle him x

@Rachael thank you! His sleep has been really bad too- I constantly feel that everything I do is wrong. He’s so so clingy to me. Literally screams if my husband goes to settle him so I am doing everything when it comes to sleep, bedtimes are harder (he’s more aware of not wanting to go to bed) and then night wake ups are just me and I usually end up cosleeping x
