Potty Training

I’m having a nightmare, he will sit on potty or the toddler seat on toilet but then come off to wee. He was 3 in December. I cracked it with my daughter in 2 weeks but her Dads a teacher and we had 2 weeks in house to blast it. I haven’t been able to do that with him because I have to work and only get weekends off. His Dad works away so I’m on my own trying to do it. Any advice would be appreciated as he’s in School now and whilst they don’t mind him being in a nappy for the two hours he’s there, I am embarrassed.

Are you able to book a few days off work? We've only been able to toilet train our daughter because I'm on maternity leave and my husband works from home, so he helps during the day. We've been toilet training since the 5th and so far she's had 6 accidents and is dry at night

I haven’t got any leave now until March because I had to take a lot in one go due to family issues. It’s a nightmare.

Have you got any family or friends that can help at all?

Don't force it. My daughter was potty trained in 2 weeks. She did fab for 3 months and then just stopped going. it's been 6 months now and she refuses to go. She's just turned 3 two months ago. Teachers says she has to be READY, WILLING AND ABLE. For some reason she is ready and able, but not willing. We are back full time in nappies and teachers says to leave it, she will get there on her own, just keep encouraging it gently. Don't stress yourself any more. My friends daughter also was potty trained. Then regressed for 5 months. Suddenly woke up one day, said she doesn't want nappies anymore and that was it. Potty all the way. She is the same age as my daughter. At school they will help him and he will see others using the potty too. Honestly, don't be embarrassed about it at all! Luckily not many adults are still in nappies. Hehe. The time will come for him too.

@Hannah my Stepmum has him when he’s not in School and she’s doing her best but he’s just refusing potty all the time.

@Ghitta thank you x
