You will find dentists will be more accommodating taking on children as NHS if you call around. I managed to get my little boy in as nhs and I was going to go private but by some miracle managed to get an NHS slot as they opened some up a couple of months later. It is a nightmare though and completely ridiculous how difficult it is trying to get a spot. Good luck!
In my area certain dentist have a short notice cancel list for under 5s . It's how I got my son his dentist and if she's only just got her teeth please don't worry as long as your brushing her teeth and you don't see any real issues than your not doing anything wrong with her not seeing anyone yet .
@demha yeah but no one would take me for an NHS appointment because I wasn't a registered NHS patient :( same now as well.
@Rachel I'll have to have a ring around then and see what we can find, thank you!
Oh no I’m sorry to hear that. That’s so horrible of them
Most dentists won't see kids before 2 anyway! So you've got time! You may find someone taking on children as they really care about kids' oral health as they know how fast it can decline, ring around! Xx
@Suzanne oh that's really good to hear thank you! I kept reading that they should see a dentist as soon as first tooth comes through so ive been worrying I've not done it yet!
My dentist refused to see my toddler until she was 2 as then they actually have something to look st which is majority of their teeth, I asked my dentist when she should be seen and they said two so I went by that, she hasn't long had her first appointment and hated it 🤣 besides yiu can't make a child ipenntheir mouths, I think at two not only do they have most of their teeth but they tend to understand open your mouth 🤣🤣 xx
When you’re pregnant and 1 year post partum you have free dental health on the NHS lovely. Check on the NHS website it has a search function to find nhs dentists near you!
