Perinatal mental health team

Can someone help me to understand what Perinatal Mental health team is. Why do they come to your house? Are they like social services?

It’s a mental health team that support you either during or after pregnancy. Not like social services at all, they are specifically to support mum with her mental health

@Abbie oh okay thank you. Is there a reason why they come to your house x

At a guess i’d say that some teams are community based so they would do the visits at your house. Or sometimes people just find home visits more comfortable. But I haven’t had them personally sorry

There brilliant, I had PTSD & delayed grief after losing my lily to cot death it was triggered at 22weeks into my rainbow pregnancy if it wasn’t for them I’m not sure what life would look like now after having my Noah they got me all the help I needed , they came to my house a lot sometimes just to do my blood pressure cos they no that the little things like making anti natal appointments on time can be a mountain some days they also can open doors to therapy that usually takes ages on the NHS all you have to see less qualified and wait for them to refer you
