Teat sizes

How do you know when to move up a teat size? I’m using Tommee Tippee bottles and have got the teats that came with the bottles but feel like I should change them as my daughter is taking a long time to get through the bottle and seems to be working really hard to finish a bottle.

How long does she take? I’ve been thinking this recently about mine too. Takes about minimum of 20 minutes to do 6oz.

I noticed that if my girl was fussing and complaining during a feed she needed a size up. Also losing interest and not drinking a full amount. I think taking ages also is an indicator xx

Same , my boy is taking forever and drinking a lot smaller amounts. Seems like he can’t be bothered. We got 1 bottle in a faster flow and he downs it so much quicker and has no issue with it. And it means he’s drinking more which is good (as he wasn’t rly drinking enough). So definitely time to up our size. I’ve just ordered more online

@Amy it varies but sometimes she takes it really well but most of the time it’s like 20 mins if not longer

@Elle I think I might get some and try some and see how she takes it. Thank you x

Tommee tippee do variflow teats that are supposed to last from birth to when they stop having bottles, might be worth getting some of them to take the guess work out x

For both my girls I’ve followed the rules that if it takes more than 20 minutes to feed them or they are fussy and getting aggy during a feed then we up a size teet x

My little girl went onto 3’s a few weeks ago! You’ll know because there bored sucking and either don’t finish or get stressy!

My 11 week old is on S2 teat, wouldn’t put him on 3 yet as he does choke sometimes, but babies will get bored and fuss over there bottles when there ready for the next size.

My boy fell asleep during feeds, took longer than half an hour to finish his feed, cried in the middle of a feed out of frustration and kept pulling at the teat. That’s how we knew he needed to size up. He’s been happy since

Try it. You can always switch back if she struggles.

I noticed the teat was getting sucked in and he was taking longer to drink and getting fussy with it thats when i changed the teats its been about three weeks now
