If your child attend school (public, private, charter, home school): when they come, kick back and watch some tv…do you allow this

Do not pooo on folks that do things differently than you. If you’re hunting for a (virtual) cookie to go along with shaming others—-take two and enjoy it. 🍪🍪

I allow my son to come home, enjoy a snack and some tv. I want him to unwind and just feel relaxed. We will then play and do school work later What about you??

Yup! He comes home, I let him relax for a while before jumping right into homework. Works well for us.

My 5 year old is in preschool. We’re starting to build a routine with him as he’s been an only child and have no structure for so long but now he has a little brother (1 month old) and with his behavior going on. When he gets home from school, we’ll ask him to put his back pack and jacket away, shoes off. Then give him option of food he’d like to eat . When he’s done, he’ll go relax and be on his tablet/phone. After awhile, will alternate and have him play with his toys or play video games (on my PS5) and/or interact/play with his little brother.

I wish my parents had taught me how to make a work-rest schedule that worked for me, rather than giving me a forced schedule. I had to finish homework before taking a break at home. So after leaving home, I never let myself take significant breaks until work was done…but guess what, there always work, and you get way less efficient without breaks. So I plan to help my child to plan a schedule that includes TV before homework if they want, try it out and learn from the consequences of the schedule they chose, and adjust the schedule as they learn

I allow a little downtime (an hour) and then we get busy on the homework. No tv or entertainment until after all homework has been completed in my house. My child needs structure or it all goes to shambles unfortunately.

No, she barely watches any TV, only about 40 mins per week and never after school.

My ss takes forever to do school work so he gets right to it. It’s an hour drive home so that’s his downtown

We’re homeschooling so tv will be minimized, available to him in the common areas of our home at certain times of the day if he wants to watch it now since we haven’t officially stated he has free reign to it in common areas. He has a tv in his room that will not be used soon, we only use it at nap time for lullabies really presently
