I second this. My 9 months old is also really big on feeding himself so we will sometimes get chicken nuggets and fries so he can feed himself. And applesauce pouches and flavored puffs are his favorite snacks we always have on us.
Not very exciting but sticks of cucumber and celery are good for teething and keep baby busy, so great for a snack, it'd probably be that and greek yogurt (protein to help them fill up) if they can eat that without loads of mess.
I have brought homemade food with me as I've been caught out before when going out. Tuna fritters were a hit & not too messy, some roast/steamed veg with Hummus, my son loves strawberries & yoghurt pouches so I bring those too.
@Sabrina i usually do greek yogurt with mashed raspberries in it for him everyday. Do you think yogurt is okay to have not in a fridge for 1-2 hours then him eat it?
@Taylor that sounds yummy! If sealed I'd think that'd be fine, but I live in London, England where it's pretty cold. If you're somewhere warmer you could maybe use a little cold bag or thermos?
I mash up baked beans with egg, cheese and flour and make little fritters. You can pop them in a little box and they can munch on them like little pancakes. Wayyyy less messy than puree
Usually we do restaurants that have mac and cheese, grilled cheese, vegetables, and fruit as side options. I carry apple sauce pouches if she needs a little snack
