Formula milk or cow milk

Im still doing a mix of cows milk and formula 1, never changed formula

I'm doing a mix of cows milk and formula now as she didn't really like the taste of cows milk by its self 🤣

My little one is a couple of weeks off turning 1. Wondering should I start introducing cows milk now, not that he drinks any water 😂

Mine has 2 cows milk in the day and 2-3 formula 1 for bedtime and night if needed. I’m not taking him off the formula unless he sleeps through just yet but will consider offering him something else when he wakes up less or drinks less when he wakes (signs of hunger or thirst). As I don’t want him to be hungry and im just taking it from him

We switched him to cow’s milk cold turkey the day before yesterday and he doesn’t seem to have noticed 😅

Oh I didn’t realise we should still be giving formula. I’ve been giving cows milk for about a week she drinks a bit less than she did with formula but she eats quite a bit 🫣

My little one has almost completely stopped taking bottles , not intentional just not interested. Will only sip cows milk with meals not take a whole bottle so we just give plenty dairy and offer water between meals

We’re doing 8oz cows milk in the morning before breakfast and 8oz cows milk in the afternoon and then 8oz formula at bed time

We’ve just started offering cows milk to my little one. Giving him one oz for a day within his feed and then increasing it each day. Follow on milks are a money making scheme , babies don’t need it but they make it to be able to make advertising as legally they can’t with stage one milks x

We're finishing our no. 2 formula and switching to cow's milk. HV even recommended the semi skimmed one at our 1st year review today

Still on formula. Health visitor told me till she turns 1 give only formula. After 1 start cows milk

@Jess May I ask are you adding 1oz to each of his feeds throughout the day or just the morning one , then adding another oz as the days pass x

Currently weaning off formula to cows milk, I stuck with the stage 1 milk from birth. So far so good. We are on 2x 7oz bottles a day - currently 3oz Cows Milk & 4oz formula x

@Elle (i can't see waves) ive done it to each feed through out the day, one day one oz, next day 2oz, each day I’ve increased it and we’re now on 4oz’s of cows milk. I’m no if that’s the correct way to do it but formula is a fortune and he’s been fine with me doing it this way x

@Jess yes noo it makes sense although my LG is my 3rd child you forget things! Lool my 2nd was preemie so his transition I had help via his nicu team and I felt like I knew what I was doing LOL , This time I'm like how do I do it lol lol 😆

My sons on oat milk full time as allergic to cows milk.

We switched to cows milk just before new year as she wasn’t agreeing with formula after BF for 11 months, the switch didn’t seem to phase her and we’re doing 3 x 180-200ml bottles and HV said it was absolutely fine as she will be ready to drop the middle bottle any day soon, if you do make the switch then iron drops and vitamin drops are recommended! Xx

@Brogan hey, which oat milk, the alpro? We’ve given ours bits of it each day but just in a straw cup. How are you giving yours? He still has two bottles of Alfamino formula as suspected CMPA.

We are on stage 3 formula just because my daughter had a tiny reaction to cows milk. (GP said it wasn’t an intolerance or allergy just sensitive stomach) going to start to add cows milk into her formula again and see how she goes x

@Mel Yes we was on alfamino too! we did go through the milk ladder but unfortunately still cant tolerate it. We give him the alpro 1-3years and he has it in his bottle with his nap and porridge in the morning, we did try in a sippy cup as that’s what he drinks water from but he just spat it back at us! Xx
