Lay out a tablecloth. Then I chuck into the wash. One of his tablecloths he can draw on- it came w markers. I use that. For just meals, or playing w playdoh, I use a huge silicone mat
I actually got my kid her own kids table that we do all crafts on that’s super easy to clean and then she has a silicone placemat for meals
Do you have a kitchen island?
We have horrible plastic table cloth that we chuck on when the craft box comes out
I have a marble table in our formal area they never use it really since they’re toddlers however when they exit out of that phase I would use placemats and table covers if they’re doing certain activities etc. right now our dining table is in a area of our home that’s not accessible to them - separated by baby gates. I have a Wooden table in our family room area that’s attached to our kitchen and I’m not too particular about it but if I were the same would apply . I mean im particular enough if paint , glue etc Is involved and I would be with all of our tables even the one in our patio patio area outside but if just eating ehh
If you use a cover I would make sure that the cover is not porous and would double up if necessary
We got our toddler her own table! Made things so much easier!
They have craft trays which are just lap trays from the pound shop, they put any crafts they want to do on thise
I get the thick plastic from Bunnings! I get it to hang over the table too, everything just wipes off! Lasts a good 12 months before it needs replacing x
