Increasing Issues with cholestasis

Hey everyone, this is my first child and I am having a little girl. I got diagnosed with cholestasis at 28w+6d. I have been having blood tests once a week to follow up since then, I am currently 34w+6d, and now they have said that I need to go twice a week as my bloods have moved from mild elevated to moderate elevated. This started to worry them last Wednesday and had a repeat Saturday which went up again and then again today. My little madam seems healthy and everything at this moment however her normal movement routine has changed so it’s hard for me to keep an eye on if she is moving ok or not, so the midwives want to monitor, They have also said they want to induce me at 38 weeks. Basically I am terrified! I feel like my body is failing my little girl. I know it’s not true and it’s one of those things but I can’t shake the feeling. I am so tired but feeling like I need to get everything done but no energy to do it, I am trying to hold my emotions so It doesn’t affect my little girl. My husband and family are amazing but I can’t stop feeling terrible that this is all my fault. I don’t know what I expected with pregnancy but I didn’t expect this emotional burn out, I want to be strong but I feel I am letting my baby down both physically and mentally.

I had cholestasis with my daughter as well. I was induced at 37 weeks and she was born perfectly healthy! No health problems at all and we got to go home the next day! Just to hopefully make you feel more at ease 🙂

Aw bless you, the stress from ICP is the worst. Definitely the most stressed I’ve ever been in my life having it ❤️ it’s such a worrying time when you’re in the middle of it. Just think 38 weeks is full term so your body most definitely hasn’t failed you or the baby!! It’s been amazing and grown a whole human gorgeous life, who will be with you so soon ❤️ As soon as they are born the symptoms of icp go away and have no lasting impact for you or the baby. Honestly you’re so close to the end, all the stress will disappear as soon as they’re here! Keep your chin up and start getting excited to meet that little baby of yours xx nearly there

I have four babies the last three I had cholestasis. With the first baby, I had preeclampsia and she was born a week early, the second baby was born two weeks early due to cholestasis, the third baby was born three weeks early due to cholestasis and the last baby was born four weeks early due to cholestasis. They all were born fine. They didn’t have to stay in ICU. I was high risk for all of my pregnancies and they monitored me closely.
