I started by giving my baby like homemade veggie tots and things like omelette which I cut into finger straps so she could hold herself. Then things like over cooked sweet potato or Carrots cut into finger shapes. Once they can hold these things and eat them it will honestly build your confidence up so much! My little girl is 9months with no teeth and I've started introducing meats and she eats it really well
Also I follow a load of instagram pages @yummy_little_belly @margots_mini_meals So handy for recipes. We now give her what we eat and it's so much easier x
Amazing thankyou ladies 💜 this has given me a bit more confidence xxx
If you’re on FB join Weaning the BLW Way. It’s such a useful group and gave me the confidence to do full BLW. Most things can be searched on the page too and previous posts come up. I’ve never had to post as always found what I need from searching ☺️
My girl has no teeth, and she literally eats anything and everything, has our meals providing they aren't too salty etc. She loves a cheese, ham and spinage toastie for lunch they are pretty good at sucking things! I also made lots of potatoe tots cause put veg in like carrots and broccoli, handy to have in the freezer to grab
We do both puree and BLW. As of the last week baby is full on biting and chewing …… yet she has no teeth. My baby absolutely LOVES food and practically salivates if someone eats in front of her 😅
@Georgina with the potato tots can I just give him it whole to grab and chew off or do I need to cut it lovely? Xxxx
The solid starts app is great it tells you how to prep food for the age and if it’s a chocking risk or not, I find it so helpful xx
Honestly teeth have nothing to do with it. The teeth you use for chewing don’t come in for a lot of kids till they’re like 1.5/2. The biggest risks for choking are inappropriate shaped foods (grapes!) and putting food in your kids mouth. Make sure you know how to do first aid, download an app on your phone to remind you I’d give them basically anything I was eating and have done since 6 months, we actually started in Spain. First food was American style pancakes and second was enchiladas!
