I had a positive experience last February. Went to triage for high blood pressure, I was induced as I was only 5 days from my due date. Induction process was started on the Friday night & I had my little boy Saturday morning. Couldn’t fault the staff, all lovely. The only downside was being discharged on the Sunday as they were low on staff & had to wait for the doctor to sign off some medication. The midwives came round every few days & all were lovely as well
I had a really positive experience at lister. I've even nominated the midwife for a daisy award

I had a really good experience with them for antenatal and delivery. The midwives doing my delivery were outstanding and so friendly and kind. It was above the level of care I expected. The only bit I didn’t like was staying on the mother and baby ward post birth. Nothing wrong with the care, it was just busy and my daughter had to have some blood tests which the doctors were not very efficient or organised about so my discharge took a really long time. Despite that I would choose lister again.
This is super reassuring. I’ve heard awful things about the Lister, in general. But nothing much about the Maternity. The whole birth thing slightly terrifies me, so it’s reassuring to know that they are good 😊
How long does it take to hear from them once you’ve self referred?
Yes I had an amazing birth at lister hospital!! I had my own room with a pool, no complications and the midwives were all lovely. I didn't have to share a ward at any point and had plenty of staff around. I was the only person on the ward so I may have just gotten lucky but it was so peaceful. I had a 6 hour labour there with gas and air, had my baby at 7 30am and discharged at 5 30 the same day! 😊 feel free to ask me any questions! xx
