My baby is 13 weeks and is the same. Guidelines say up to 180 ml at her age and sometimes she will take that, other times we battle to get 90-100 down. Her weight gain had slowed slightly from December to January but not to the point it was alarming. They told me to try feeding 90ml, then another 90ml an hour later to get her to take more if I’m concerned. You’re doing great!
My LO is 16 weeks and started taking less sometimes a battle to get 100/110 ml where was between 140-180ml each feed
My twins are 12 weeks old and both take 180ml every 4 hours, but maybe 1 or 2 feeds in a 24hr period, theyll only take 150ml x
Babies are so good at letting you know when they need more or less. The way we’ve been doing it is if they drain every bottle for a couple of days, then we up the milk by an ounce. We’ve done that since birth and it’s worked really well. You’re doing a good job!! It is difficult to know the best thing to do sometimes, but if you’re really worried you could chat to doctor? Xx
@Kirstie my little boy has started wanting feeds every 2.5/3 hours but then I offer him 4 oz(we used to do 5 and he was doing well but he’s been back on 4 for a few weeks now) but when he has his feeds he doesn’t drink it all a lot of the time which is why I think he’s wanting it a lot sooner now and it seems to be impacting his sleep in the night now especially the last few nights 😩 x
@Kayleigh it’s so hard isn’t it.. my little boy has started wanting feeds every 2.5/3 hours but then I offer him 4 oz (we used to do 5 and he was doing well but he’s been back on 4 for a few weeks now) but when he has his feeds he doesn’t drink it all a lot of the time which is why I think he’s wanting it a lot sooner now and it seems to be impacting his sleep in the night now especially the last few nights 😩 thank you so much! Xx
@Lana yeah my little one takes different amounts each feed, it can really stress me out, he as on 150ml a few weeks ago but that was like every 3-4 hours but we’re back to 120ml every 2.5/3 hours but alot of the time he doesn’t take it all x
@Rachel my little boy has started wanting feeds every 2.5/3 hours but then I offer him 4 oz(we used to do 5 and he was doing well but he’s been back on 4 for a few weeks now) but when he has his feeds he doesn’t drink it all a lot of the time which is why I think he’s wanting it a lot sooner now and it seems to be impacting his sleep in the night now especially the last few nights 😩 but thank you so much xx
I haven't read all the above in detail but I got the gist that your baby is taking less than before and leaving some of his feed. This was us so decided to go up a teat size and voila! He's sinking his bottles again! He must have been getting bored and tired of working so hard, he would just fall asleep or push it away!
@Beth ahhh I didn’t really think of this! I might try that with his bottles from tomorow, he’s on Mam bottles with size 1 teat but I might try size 2 tomorrow, thank you
Yes give it a go! It's very likely he's outgrown the 1's. Mine was abit chaotic at first but after a day of practice he's fine. He was only taking 2-4 oz and getting bored and i couldn't work out why after taking 5oz at about 4 weeks old he's always been a massive guzzler! But he's taken 5 oz each feed today bar a couple!
@Beth is your little one on mam bottles too? Yeah I’ll definitely give it a go tomorrow, then if he does take more I’m hoping he will sleep a little better at night and drink more in the day
No he was but changed to Dr browns because I was breast feeding but also as they're meant to be helpful for reflux. Mine hasn't made a change to his sleep as such yet but tonight might be different after feeding more during the day. Who knows. Apparently after 3am it's normal for them to stir more and need more support to resettle as their cortisol levels rise x
@Beth my little boy suffers with reflux, have you found that the dr browns bottles have helped with this? He doesn’t suffer bad as such, it’s more silent reflux he has and ahh fingers crossed for you! X

Thats the reason we got the bottles too, I've no clue whether they help or not 😂 but I like to think they do x
Same here, my baby is 12w today and often he’ll only drink 60ml or less. Sometimes he’ll drink 120ml but that’s rare. Often he just wants 20ml and then another 20ml half hour later and so on
@Elle as I mentioned above have you tried a higher flow teat for your lil bubba
Yes they’ve literally just arrived from the postman!! 🤣 we have 1 bottle that’s a faster flow and yes it has deffo helped him drink more. Still can be quite little that he drinks tho
My boy is 11 weeks on Saturday amd the last week we managed to go up too 5ozs per feed every 4 hours.
