Yes you can. I get both. We use our tax free child care to pay for the remainder left over after our funded hours :) Tax free means whatever you put in the government tops it up by 20% x
Tax free childcare = you pay your childcare fees via this so for example the bill is £1000 , you pay £800 and the government puts in £200 to pay the bill.
You guys are soo knowledge, thanks. Where do u set the account up
@Hannah Government gateway
Thank everyone!! I can't believe I didn't know about this until today 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
There are set times to apply for it (apply for both at the same time). I think you need to be going back to work within 31 days and earning a set amount on average over the next 3 months.
Yes you can get both. The funded hours is reducing the number of hours you pay for at the nursery and the tax free childcare helps pay for the hours you do have to pay for. You have to set up an account and pay money into the account then the government tops it up and you have to pay your nursery fees from that account. I get UC which gives me up to 85% back on my childcare costs, if you can get UC then you should get it because you can't beat it. Child benefit is completely separate
