Ivf question

Sorry I feel this is a silly question. We had nhs ivf before Xmas and just been enrolled on a finance programme to start ivf again.. I want to start on my Feb period which is likely to start last day of Feb early March. I've messaged the clinic today asking if anything we need to do and they said no just ring on the day 1 of your chosen cycle. I assumed I rang the month before my chosen cycle so I would ring end of January so we can get plans and medication ordered ready to start for my chosen cycle of end of Feb/ March. Sorry if this is super stupid

So, the way my clinic worked, it’s once we were “ready to go” eg consultations and baseline. I called on day 1 and this was my paperwork month. So there was more paperwork, ordering the meds etc. then my next day 1 was the month we did the transfer (or start your meds for retrieval, we were an FET cycle) You can usually message them to confirm. I was disappointed as I wanted to transfer the first month, but basically had to wait an extra month before actually starting the process.

Its not a stupid question at all. If you rang them on day 1 of your january cycle, more than likely, they will assume that you want to pursue ivf with that january cycle. So by the clinic stating to give them a ring on the day 1 of your chosen cycle, they are stating to call on day 1 of the cycle you chose to start ivf with. Im pretty sure they can get the medications etc sent to you in time. Thats why they said to call on day 1 of chosen cycle. Good luck! I have my very first FET scheduled for Feb. 11th

I had norethisterone first time and on my last consultation my consultant check i still had some at home to use. I assumed i would need to start this prior to my period so I would need to get in touch January to have the stims starting in Feb. Then this allows time for medication to be delivered etc. Does this sound right and what you were both meaning if i have understand you both correctly Thanks for your messages 🥰

Sorry also with a second cycle did you have many appointments before u started stims ? I assumed maybe one yo go over medication protocol? @Danielle

I had an appointment with the nurse in the first month to go over my timelines, so yes you would go over the protocol. I assume you’ve had a consultation with a doctor who discussed what you want to do? I had this first prior to my day 1. And then the nurse just went over the timelines on when I would be in for scans / start progesterone etc.
