Picky eating

My daughter will not try new food. If she hasn't had it before she will refuse. Take alot of persuasion and time for her to actually eat it. Then once she does it's a breeze. Do you have any tips or tricks on introducing new foods?

Keep introducing it to her. Try not to overly persuade her as that could actually do the opposite of what you want, which is for her to eat it. Kids have to constantly be exposed to foods to peak that curiosity. Put her in the high chair and just leave the food in front of her. She may not eat it right away, but she might poke at it a little. Let her explore it for herself without any interference for at least the first 10 minutes. Then I would eat it in front of her saying “mmmm yummy” lol then try to pick it up and feed it to her. If she doesn’t want it, dont force her. Also another tip is to include food that you know for sure she will eat along with the new food you want to introduce to her all in the same plate. You may have to do this a lot of times and food will go to waste 😭, but it’ll be worth it when they are familiar with all types of foods. Studies show that children accept different food overtime the more you EXPOSE them to it. 😊

Thank you for this!! 😍😍

Make the new food you want her to try on your plate sound extra yummy when eating it, then offer her to try it; works like a charm with my little one lol, she be like dang mom I wanna try since u bring extra 😊

I also like to dance when my food comes out (when it’s breakfast lunch or dinner) to make eating exciting so when it’s also something new I call her name and then add a clap or noise w/the little dance, eat and say yummy outloud and that works sometimes too where she walks up and wanna try my food lol

@Laure I can definitely try this approach. Keep reminding myself its okay to waste lol thank you. Very helpful
