Metformin
Been put on metformin today as have gestational diabetes. Really scared to take as have read side effects. Just wondering if anyone can shed any light and if they been OK on it.

I’m 29 weeks and got diagnosed with GD at 13 weeks was put on metformin at about 16 weeks and have been absolutely fine on it. No side effects & has sorted my fasting levels out :)
I have been on 500mg before pregnancy and at 6 week pregnant they got me on 1500 mg it has help me go from a 6.5 A1C to a 5.0 A1C at 20 weeks pregnant A1C check up im so happy 😊 No side effects it's amazing medicine
I was on it last pregnancy and had no side effects whatsoever x

My baby’s 15 weeks old now but I had gestational diabetes and was put on metformin it didn’t agree with me and gave me terrible stomach pain and didn’t reduce my levels I opted for insulin but before I was put on it I was induced due to big baby if your not already join the gestational diabetes uk Facebook page there is so much advice on there aswell as amazing recipes to try x
