I had some sensitivety still at about up until about 21 months when I had another baby and tore in the exact same spot again. My scar this time around already has healed this time around though. I would definitely have someone check it out! I honestly hadn't thought much about it until my husband and I did the deed the other day and I literally couldn't feel the scar tissue anymore.
I had issues with my stitches after delivery and at my 6 week check up I brought it up. It hurt when I would bend or squat or anytime I stretched. My OBGYN referred me to a urogynocologist and I had to have the scar tissue removed and restitched. I then had to go to pelvic floor physical therapy so that the scar tissue wouldn’t build back up and I am still going to pelvic floor physical therapy two years later.
@Sharon restitch? 😩 That's what I don't want to happen. That's time consuming to still be going to pelvic floor therapy. They had also recommended that for me but also said I could do the exercises at home.
If you have insurance or anything like that, if anyone else is gonna pay for a pelvic floor therapy besides you, I would definitely take it!!!
I do the exercises at home but the pelvic floor PT also does internal and that is where most of my results comes from. I will say I had to go to a pelvic floor physical therapist before getting pregnant because I had other issues, so you might not have to go for as long as I have.
That is not normal, I would call your OB. While it's common to have scar tissue that can make sex a little uncomfortable at first, it's not normal to have pain after two years. With my son I was feeling super sensitive still when I went to my six week check up and I told her it was super sensitive in one area and she actually ended up having to cut a piece of skin tissue that didn't heal correctly and it was sticking out around the stitches. She numbed me and cut it real quick and I felt immediately better and completely back to normal. I would definitely go get checked out!
