Dentist visits while pregnant

Soo I've gotta have two fillings tomorrow, and I've just found I'm pregnant. Does this mean I have to have the procedure medication free? Are they still allowed to numb my mouth for the work? Surely there's something I can have🤷🏽‍♀️ UK based. NHS if that makes any difference.

Yes, just inform them. You can have numbing injections, but you may need to discuss the type of filling though. When I was pregnant, my dentist said that I couldn't have the silver filing. Make sure they give you an apron if you need an xray

Also, you get free dental care when pregnant, if you're not at the stage to get a Mat1b form, just keep your receipts and claim it back

Best to get it done sooner rather than later. I had a couple cavities filled in the third trimester

I work in dentistry. Safe to have fillings just tell them so they can use the appropriate anaesthetic and as above, you can’t have silver fillings. We don’t use lead aprons for xrays anymore, proven to cause radiation to become trapped under them x

This is why I thoughtnid post because I had a feeling someone to would in this line on work on here lol. Thank you all I feel better about it now. I think I'm paying extra for white anyways so that shouldn't be an issue x
