How do you offer outside of the house?

I was only doing easy catches till now but I worked out the natural timing. Thing is my LO can take ages to relax and release on potty. If I'm at a friend's house I wouldn't want to spend forever with him in the bathroom so is it still worth it to offer it but put him back in a pullup after five minutes? So that he can see that he can still signal to me and I'll respond even if not at home?

I always offer outside by holding him over the toilet. He usually doesn't like to go unless he's at home and it's calm and quiet. I just put his pull up on it he doesn't go. You can't force him to go.

@Annie thank you! Makes sense and of course we can't force. I prefer going at home too 😅 I guess that may eventually happen after the staying homeperiod of potty training. I've ordered a pottette plus potty with collapsible silicone liner so we can practice with st home and then try out and about so at least the potty would be the same. He loves playing on our big toilet but if I sit him on he seems scared, even with the seat reducer so I think I'll try travel potty until he's a bit bigger. He's really big tall and strong and can even climb onto the toilet himself with the lid closed but I think he will need more language skills to tell me why it feels insecure so I can then assure him he won't fall in. I am recently offering at home when I wee as I have an overactive bladder so can align to his natural timing quite often and that's helping so maybe I would wee first before offering 🤔 especially at a friend's house where there may be less time pressure than in public
