i understand. having a baby for a lot of people can slow their metabolism because of all the hormonal changes we go through to bring life into the world. i went from a size 4 to a size 8-10. try a calorie deficit, that for sure should slow the weight down
I gained weight after giving birth between week 8-12. I was EBF but my baby had tongue tie so wasn’t gaining enough - I was just putting the weight on that should be been turning into milk. My weight is starting to come off me now that I am getting back to more of my usual daily activity and baby is sleeping better (bad sleep affects you in so many ways and makes your diet want to be too sugary). Walking a lot and adding strength training back in to my day is helping
@Emma my baby had a tongue tie too, and I had it released two days ago. Also I have been expressing milk until about I was 9-10 weeks pp!
I weigh a lot more now too and I am EBF. I wonder if it has something to do with hormones? I am just eating as healthy as I can and exercising when I can. I don’t want to cut food down as I don’t want it to effect my milk. You are doing an amazing thing by breastfeeding your baby and I’m sure your weight will go back down in time. I know that doesn’t help right now. Big hugs.
I was in the exact same boat it’s hard isn’t it. Pre pregnancy weight I was in the best shape of my life at 50kg and afterwards I was 70kg and it stayed that way for a whole year until I returned back to work. I EBF so i was focusing on eating nutritious food for good supply but I honestly think it was due to sleep deprivation that causes our bodies to store fat more and not lose weight
Don’t feel down about the weight gain, you have given birth! This is huge! In regards to your weight loss, try and aim for 10,000 steps a day 5 x a week and you will lose 20kgs in 4 months. Remember to drink plenty of water along the way. This helped me
