My son is the same 3 weeks Monday he is asleep within a hour but as soon as he lays down and the light goes out it all goes hay wire, I've been told it's a regression, longest regression we have ever been in
Have you maybe tried a later bedtime? We were struggling a couple months ago until I just pushed bedtime to 8pm, shes fully asleep by around half 8. Since then we've had a few difficult ones but it's mostly been okay. She naps 12-2, and if she sleeps past 2 she often won't be fully asleep by 9pm. She's had a couple of no nap days. The choice is really between her being absolutely exhausted and struggling every night until shes allowed to sleep, or us just spending another hour with her in the evenings.
Thanks everyone. Think I'm going to try some no nap days and later bedtimes and see which works better
Autumn just decided to stop naps about 3/4 weeks ago same age as yours as she was crying when I put her to bed now she’s that tired she’s asleep with in 5 mins
@Bobbi we read with my torch on my phone so it’s already quite dark we have 2/3 small books and then I put her down seems to be much better then reading in the light room downstairs
We have pushed bedtime to half 7 and this has cut down the messing around time, however he is visibly tired which is what we cant work out. We read in dimmed light as he is now afraid of shadows bless him x
With a nap our bedtime is 8pm earliest, but without a nap it’s 7pm. I don’t think mine’s ready to drop completely so like you said, it’s worth trying out both and seeing what works
Yes we tried no nap but he couldn't cope so we know he needs a nap for sure, we tey and do 5.5 hours from wake up time and nap is capped at 2 on tired days. We found there is less fighting on a later bedtime but now he is waking 5am again but is tired and cranky, it's suchba minefield it really is and exhausting x
Hi everyone! I’m a sleep consultant, and mum of 2 young children so I understand what you’re going through. I’m very happy to discuss any issues you have with your little ones if you’re looking for help. Please do get in touch by sending me a message on 07760167641.
I’ve been having a lot of chats with my mum friends recently and a lot of us are finding bed time has got worse recently. I think dropping or capping daytime naps is worth trying. My son doesn’t nap during the day now, and his night time sleep has been better since
