Talking

My 14 month old say no words at all, not even mom/dad. I have a 5 year old who is autistic/non verbal, now I believe my baby could be. He just started clapping at 13 months. He doesn't point either 😩 He looks at my mouth when I talk, but that's it.

Just speaking from experience Are you guys actively talking to your LO? ****I meant a nonverbal child at the age of 2 and with daily repetition of words, tasks etc by age 5 he was speaking…. so may I ask what are you guys doing to encourage speech? (Not licensed or anything just trying assist again for my own experience)

Hello! I recommend looking into a regional center. My daughter was delayed in rolling and they perform an assessment to see if they qualify for services. They recommended an infant teacher who comes to our house for 2 hrs a month and also an occupational therapist who comes for an hour each week. The services they recommend will depend on your child’s needs. Since starting with the regional center I have seen my daughters improve so much. Also the services they receive are free.
