Pregnancy weight

How is everyone doing in terms of their pregnancy weight? Im 17 weeks pregnant and have gained 8.5lbs 😟 which is a lot compared to what I gained in my last pregnancy. Im doing 5 days a week strength training besides 10k steps every day but this morning when I saw my weight I was honestly shocked. My diet is also very clean except maybe once or twice i might eat something from a restaurant. My target was to gain only 25-30 lbs this time but looks like it will be easy 40/45 lbs.

I have only gained 3 pounds and I am freaking out. I feel like I should be gaining more. Every body is different 😭😭😭

@Keyla My sister didn’t gain a single pound during pregnancy and she had a very happy baby in Dec!

I’m 20 weeks and refuse to step on the scale, if that tells you anything 😹

@Keyla God you should be happy.. We gain a little in 2nd trimester and the maximum in 3rd. If I were you, i would really be dancing lol

@Breann i dont know why did i check my weight this morning, it really freaked me out.

Did you find you were eating a lot during the first trimester to offset nausea? Hopefully weight gain will level off.

I’ve put on 7kg at 21 weeks which is more than the highest bound 🥲 I’ve been SO hungry all pregnancy & admittedly haven’t eaten the healthiest but tried to stay as active as possible with daily walks, 4x weight training!

I’ve only gained 1 pound 😭

At 19weeks I’ve already gained 20lbs which is a lot more than my first pregnancy.

@Breann not really I was doing fine in my first trimester, i still gained like 5 pounds. But from 13th to 17th week weight gain was a lot for me😭

When I’m found out at 7 weeks I was 119 now I’m at 20 weeks and now I weigh 138

Don’t stress about it! You’ll be fine. Some women gain 50-60lbs. If you’re staying active I’m sure you’ll stay around 35lbs.

@Ashlee I’m sure I’m around 20lbs too at 20 weeks.

@Abbie i hear you 😞 im just worried i know how hard it was for me to get back to my pre pregnancy weight last time and i don’t want to get into this loop again this time

@Breann thanks Breann i really hope so 🙏

I’m 18weeks and have gained 9 pounds

True I am happy and grateful but I have been eating so much. I hope to gain more

It’s hard to compare weight gain between people and pregnancies since they’re all different. Some people who start at much higher BMI are generally expected to gain less and people who are considered underweight are expected to gain more. It’s all situational and also depends on how much morning sickness you may have had or not. I always go to this site to make myself feel better about my weight gain. I put in an 8.5lb weight gain by week 17 and it’s completely normal. As someone with an eating disorder history myself, I find it so hard to cope when I have gained weight during pregnancy and other people say they have only gained 1lb or so and I’m comparing myself to that. So I would advise you to please try not to compare yourself to others and try to focus on what is normal And healthy for you and your own pregnancy. https://www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html

Thanks for this Dory, this makes so much sense. Thanks for sharing the pregnancy calculator.

19 weeks and up at least ten lbs. I don’t really care as I tend to snap back. I gained 50 lbs with one of my boys and 65 with the other. I’m also regularly petite, like 110-115 is my usual weight. I’m letting my body do what it needs to.

Im 20+4 and have gained a stone in weight x

With my son I gained his weight but this time I haven’t gained anything yet.

20 weeks and lost 9kg 🥲🥲

If you're strength training some of that may just be muscle but honestly at least you're gaining weight, and that's not a ton. I was so nauseous with my first, I lost 20 lbs in the first 20 weeks, I've lost 2lbs with this pregnancy and I'm having twins 🤦🏻‍♀️

I wish I could feel hungry and eat

@Nire85 I lost around the same amount as you by around the same time with my first pregnancy and the best suggestion I can give you is to give in to your cravings. The only thing I wanted, a turkey sub from Subway, happened to be the only thing I could keep down. Preggie pops really help with nausea, which personally helped with my appetite.

@Cheyann thanks hun. I was diagnosed HG at 9 weeks. Been tough as with my first pregnancy all I did was eat. So jealous reading some of these posts lol only think I seem to keep down arm is gum balls chewy gums icy poles and watermelon 🍉
