I had a terrible experience on the depo. I only got one round of it and I bled for 6 months straight. I got a heavy period each month but I spotted every single day still. Not sure that it’s related but it took me 3 years after that before i had a regular cycle again and took us that long to get pregnant.
I wouldn't take it...there's been some lawsuits against it because of a risk of developing brain tumors from taking it.
I got a IUD, the one with no hormones. And I love it so far. I can’t feel it there. I have never been a big fan of any kind of birth control. But I’m terrified of getting pregnant again lol! So I talked to my doctor which helped me feel so much better about getting the IUD!
I hated the depo when I had it (5-6 years ago) I gained so much weight only good thing was I didn’t have a period
Depo was the least favorite of all birth controls! My weight gain, inconsistent periods, etc. Would not recommend if you are breastfeeding. Depo in SOME studies have shown negative effects on lactation. It is mentioned that it should be taken 6-8 weeks after giving birth to first establish a milk supply.

i hated the depo shot. I got it about 6 years ago, and it was the worst thing i could do. Had it for 2 years. For the first couple months i never got a period, then i would get it for a month at a time. Then I would be off for a week, and make on for a month. so also went from 110 to 160. Its also knows to make it difficult and in some cases infertile. It took me 3 years to get pregnant after i got off it, because it took my cycle so long to regulate. And I wasn’t ovulating. Took about two years to get my period once a month. There also is a lawsuit currently with them.
