Feeding baby in Egypt? Help please

We are going on our first holiday since our little girl was born. We are going mid March and she will be 9months by the time we go. We are going to Egypt and I am getting a little anxious about feeding her while out there. She is formula fed now and weaning is going okay so far but she prefers home cooked foods which I mostly give her to the packet foods. I hear you have to be very careful with the food in Egypt so concerned about how I feed her out there or would I just stick to milk and snacks for the week? We are staying at an all inclusive food so we will be eating at the resort most of the time. Also in regards to milk I am also unsure about how I make up her milk with the water situation out there. If I have a kettle is it just okay to boil the tap water from our hotel to make up bottles and for just water for her to drink generally? Any advice would be great as I’m feeling a little panicked. Thank you

We went to Egypt last year with a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old (ebf so can't help with formula) we stayed at the resort the whole time and had no issues with food at all

I wouldn’t use tap water, the same way we wouldn’t drink the tap water, I would use bottled. You will need to find one with a low sodium content though. I would then make the bottles up using a kettle and I used the rapid cool in Turkey. It worked really well! We’re also going to Egypt this year and in terms of food I am going to take purées and jars as I don’t want to risk my LO getting poorly from any food. As you said you do have to be careful with food in Egypt but I have been twice before baby and never been poorly but for a little one so young and new to foods, I wouldn’t risk it. Hope that helps. x

@Naomi thank you so much so just to clarify you would use bottled water and boil that in the kettle to make up the bottles? I am going to try and do some research to find low sodium bottled water in Egypt I just hope I can find it!

@Aimee thank you for your reply! Nice to hear you were okay with food as had quite a few people tell me they were a bit ill

Yes so I would boil the bottled water in the kettle (as long as there is one provided, you may want to check beforehand!) I also used bottled water for cleaning and sterilising when I was abroad (I might have gone overboard with worrying about the tap water but better to be safe than sorry😅)! Honestly, it’s not too difficult to find bottled water with low sodium, I would just research on forums beforehand so you have a bit of an idea. Some have pictures of babies on them in other countries and they say that they are suitable/safe for babies but we found these actually had more sodium than other water so avoided them completely when we went to Turkey.
