Funded hours help

Can anyone help. Our childminder keeps telling us that we should have a new code this term but we can’t find anything about this. We renewed when we were supposed to but we’re not given a new code. The government are refusing to pay her. Anyone know where I would find the new code or who would have sent it (e.g council, HMRC, etc)

@Samantha thanks. We had that but she’s being told we should have a new code! So strange. Did you keep the same code?

Ah it might be different if your little one has just turned 2 (just realised what group I'm in) our girl turned 2 in August and joined in September so we get the 2 year old funding. You could always give them a call and ask what's going on? Sorry I can't be of more help xx

The codes are the same. I was told by my nursery as long as you renew it. They will enter the same code and it should still work

You don’t get a new code. I was also confused about this. It stays the same when you reconfirm x

That’s odd. I wonder why they are being weird about it. She did say the other ages, never needed that. Thanks for all your feedback, it help me to not feel like I’m going mad.

Our code stayed the same too

If you were given a temporary code initially then you will need to move to using a ‘proper’ code. But once you have the code, as long as you re confirm each few months and circumstances don’t change then the same code should see you through all childcare to school!

Maybe call them if the issue keeps occurring as it seems strange. My code hasn't changed either and I've just kept renewing and not had any issues.

@Kayleigh my childminder had issues because she was still using the ‘temporary’ number assigned to my son and not the permanent one they changed it to. Check to see they are using the correct reference number assigned to your child. Hope this helps. ☺️

@Jade thank you. I think this must be what happened as there was a different code on the website to the ones on our emails.
