Not walking yetšŸ˜

Hi everyone! I had a question, I have tried so many things to get my son to walk, heā€™s turning 1 next month. I donā€™t know what to do, he crab walks, he holds onto things while pulling himself up, but when it comes to him standing on his own heā€™ll happily plant his butt back down on the floor and crawl. When heā€™s in his walker he uses his tiptoes to get around, I put it on the lowest height and itā€™s no use, has anyone else had trouble teaching their babies to walk? If so what do you propose.

Mine didnā€™t walk until she was nearly 2 (I think she could have done it before but she only seems to do something when sheā€™s 100% sure). But what I started to do was put mittens on her hands (or a ball in each) and that seemed to help šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø Iā€™ll add mine was a bum shuffler not a crawler so I expected her to walk late as she was building up up the muscle - we were having physio due to the bum shuffling/not crawling x

He's still young! My boy didn't walk until he was 17 months and now he runs everywhere šŸ˜‚ Your little boy will get there when he's ready šŸ˜Š

Typically thereā€™s only a concern if not walking by 18 months. I would not stress at this age at all.

My daughter didnā€™t start walking until she was a year and 4 months! Babies do things when there ready I found and stressing about it didnā€™t do me any good either itā€™s easier said then done but youā€™re doing a great job regardless ā¤ļø

My daughter walked at 13 months!šŸ˜Š

Nothing to worry about. My eldest was 13 months, youngest 14 nearer to 15 months. Eldest showed no signs just got up and walked one day. Youngest sofa surfed for months. My HV said at 9-12 month review they donā€™t worry until about 19 months Itā€™s do with hormones and also molar teeth

Donā€™t worry you are still early! Here are some tips I learned from an occupational therapist though! 1. No walkers. It often actually delays walking so they recommend against using them. 2. There are little push walkers that you can buy that help build their leg muscles, looks almost like a push cart or shopping cart. 3. Use toys or items they like as motivation and use two chairs placed vey close together. Once your son is standing holding on to one chair, move the item to the other chair so that he walks from one to the other while standing on the ground. Gradually move the chairs farther apart so he has to take a step or two to move between the chairs. If he starts sitting down and crawling again, push them closer together so he keeps standing and walking between them. Hope this helps!!! :)

Mine didnā€™t walk till he was 15 months. Heā€™s got some time. Try not to worry about it. If he isnā€™t walking by 18 months Iā€™d be concerned

My son took his first steps at 13 months old. In the end I got him a push walker to encourage walking. It did help. Get him to hold a spoon and heā€™ll be able to stand for a second. Also place a coffee table close to the sofa so that he can walk between them with support then increase the distance.

Relax! Mine walked at 14 months

Thank you guys so much for the encouragement and tips ā¤ļø i feel so much better cause I was worried it was me who was getting it wrong

He'll walk! I remember when mine hadn't and I was stressed because 3 other babies younger than her were walking. And everyone would constantly ask "is she walking yet?" Or say, "she's still not walking?" But one day on vacation she got up and fucking ran. She was almost 15months. From that day on she hasn't stopped walking. Your little one will walk when they're ready.
