He seriously said heās going to end up on formula? Thatās horrific. Plenty of breastfeeding women go on to have very successful breastfeeding journeys after cutting dairy out of their diet! I donāt have an exact timeline because for some reason my son reacts to dairy but not my breast milk (I still consume dairy) but it can take up to 6 weeks for dairy to completely leave your system, but it really depends. Iāve read for some women they saw improvements in a few days, some just a few weeks.
Sounds like my experience! I cut dairy and soy out for a month, everything settled and I then had a slip up and it all came back. After this I demanded testing came back positive for allergies to dairy soy eggs and almonds. Iām 15 months into my breast feeding journey so if you want to breast feed and are willing to cut the allergens you can do it šŖš¼ be strong youāve got this
Iām so sorry that youāre going through this. If you want to breastfeed go right ahead. It usually takes 2 weeks to get dairy out of your system and 4-6 weeks out of your LO. Some people seen results in 1-2 weeks. However, it usually gets worse before it gets better. I wish the best for you and your LO.
Iām not agreeing or disagreeing. However: the Gp wonāt be able to tell you you canāt have dairy. So therefore offered the formula for this reason. However! My little girl was ebf for the first 3-4 weeks of her life before being advised anyways to put her onto formula due to weight lose. Although he said it in a horrible way it may just be to manage expectations. You may be able to smash this out and prove him wrong but also itās okay if it doesnāt work too x
This was rash few days ago it did get worse but photo isnāt very clear and he still has the rash now
