Washing teddies and comforters?

Hi all, I’m a first time mum to be, 33 weeks pregnant and fully in nesting mode! I’ve washed all of baby’s clothes, towels, blankets etc., but I don’t know whether to wash baby’s comforters and soft toys? I don’t want to ruin them but feel like they’re not clean… what did others do? Am I just being over the top😂👶🏼🩷🩵

I would wash everything that’s in contact with baby’s skin/mouth. You’d be disgusted at the amount of bacteria, dirt and worse, possible harmful chemicals are on these… I usually put them in a wash bag (or even a fabric tote bag or something) and then gentle wash. I haven’t ruined anything so far 😅

The occasional item that seemed impossible to wash I wiped clean with water and a small amount of mild dish soap!

Hello, maybe we can be friends message me

I didn’t wash them & had no issues

Same as Michelle - most delicate items I wash in a delicates bag on a delicate cycle. I hand wash and air dry soft toys before first use. I also haven't ruined anything yet. If a teddy falls on a floor that looks unclean (not like home where I know I cleaned the floor recently) then I wipe it with a disinfectant wipe and then a wet wipe (my baby is 6 m.o. now). I know mums that don't do it and their babies don't seem to be worse for it though! 🤷‍♀️
