Husband "helps" by washing daughters clothes, now all the whites are grey, would you...

He says it's fine because she'll grow out of them eventually anyway, but she's going to be wearing them now for a good few months

Oh god, I don’t even know. I’m so over-protective about the washing 😂 if he did something like even touch it I’d go mental. That’s my job as much as I HATE IT! It sounds like he was trying to help 🤷🏻‍♀️ which is a good thing, can’t fault him there. Maybe get more white tops and not let him near them? 😂 problem solved!!

Same here... Found a pair of socks where one is a different colour. Put them to the side til when I think he will be receptive. He literally doesn't believe me that different colours should be separated out 🙄

@Libby oh I try to keep him away, but he just adds her clothes in when he does his own 🫣 I'm grateful, but she's not long gone into this age bracket (12-18m) so I'm also a bit cross 😅

We buy limited whites for obvious reasons, so I don't stress when the few whites we do have wind up grey

@Laura yeah my husband is the same 😅😂

It'll be something you laugh about in a year to come. It's frustrating now, but it's not the end of the world x

My husband washes all the whites with the colors and they never turn colors. I did it once and now all the socks are pink lol. I’m not sure if it can be fixed. It’s a lesson learned for him hopefully.

@Haley 💚 oh this wasn't something he did accidentally, he just doesn't care if they come out grey or whatever. I have asked him not to wash her clothes but he still does

Is it only me who has never had this happen?!😂 I guess i’m lucky! I never separate colours and they’re always fine! ❤️

Id be very grateful.

You can soak them in Milton and they’ll go white again x

Dude no tell him to learn how to fkn wash clothes lol

@Michelle omg I would not be grateful he is ruining the clothes WTF

Ugh that is annoying

Nah in all seriousness, in the early years it seems like such a big deal, but when they get to eating stage, nothing is safe!! My son has stained up so much of his coloured clothes it’s a lost cause now😭 his white stuff I bleached back initially, but when it kept happening I gave up

I would only be upset if it was a nice outfit. One of my sons nice shirts got a bad stain when he got into some wet paint that was sitting out at a preschool we were touring 🫠

@Ellie-May same! I don’t even use a colour catcher! Watch on our next wash now.. 😭🤣

@Ellis I know! we’ve definitely jinxed it😂 good luck!😂

I’d just laugh it off & try fix it

I’ll be annoying but it’s an easy fix when they are white.

Does it matter that they are gray? I genuinely don't think I'd notice or care. If it's a big deal to you maybe try a blue wash on her whites?

Does it look like grey or white clothes that got messed up in the wash? I would let it go regardless and just explain to him what went wrong so it doesn’t happen again.

If it was an accident like he missed a black sock in the pile of white shirts then I wouldn’t be upset but if he just did it because he didn’t care if he ruined the clothes I’d be pissed

Oh bless haha, I just wouldn’t even batter an eye lid.

@Ellie-May I’ve never separated clothes by color either. Maybe the towels from the clothes but that’s about it.

I literally do this all the time with our clothes so I wouldn’t be upset I’d just be grateful he did the laundry
