I don’t get the obsession w tik tok bc you can watch the same videos on instagram reels and Facebook it’s just a different platform

@Amanda Brown I literally said this same exact thing to my sister today!

When’s the ban set for I keep hearing it’s gonna be banned but have no final date?

I use Instagram reels I could careless honestly.

@Amanda Brown I’ve said this every day. Even Facebook has shorts as does YouTube and Instagram

tiktok is income for millions of americans, including many sahms— the level of compassion that goes out towards women struggling w ppd/a/r is unlike any META app created. Instagram is constantly trying to portray the perfection, never the nitty gritty. we can all be insane on tiktok, and it’s sad, honestly because we’ve built such an enormous community, of many different forms— i am sad if you can’t tell lol all of my recipes i never got to write down, all of the projects i saved to create😭😭😭😭

@Nikki 100%!

I really do feel sorry for youse all (I’m from uk) TikTok is actually such a strong community for people like us! I go to TikTok for so many things! Advice on baby stuff, recipes, to cheer me up, to support charity’s and other people’s platforms. I hope they come to an agreement and you can use the app again

IG and FB are nothing close to tiktok.. most of the content from those are from tiktok 😂

I’m in another country so tiktok isn’t banned here but most of the videos and people I follow are Americans so there isn’t really any point in going on it anymore anyway. It sucks but I’m sure it’ll come back

I'm not affected, but I feel so bad for all the people who got their income from the platform, instagram and facebook don't pay for content. Or if they do it's very little

@Sophie yea this. I was talking to my husband about that. I didn’t watch tik tok but from what i understand it did pay their creators and Facebook and instagram do not.

@Lucy Sundin Instagram and Facebook do pay creators. My husband makes a good amount off of Instagram. YouTube also pays they have shorts as well.

I think that the algorithm is friendlier at getting more views for lesser known influencers, small businesses, etc. But as someone who just "consumes" the content, I agree with others that you can watch similar things on Instagram, you just might be less likely to find people who are lesser known because the algo isn't friendly unless you already have thousands of followers.
