@Katrina we don’t mind paying, however paying a 10,000 or 6,000 retainer is something we can’t afford right now . We just need the lawyer for one day
The lawyer would need to spend time on your case outside of court so it would be more than one day and depending on what happens at court then there could be other dates. Have you tried contacting the state bar association for a referral?
Whatever you do, do not go in there without a lawyer if she has one. My fiancé just had his visitation suspended and he also had a massive amount of evidence against her. Why was his visitation suspended? Because he asked for a continuance to arrange for a lawyer. Absolute bullshit. We can talk more in message if you’d like. Sounds like we are in the same boat.
I also agree with Alyson. Don’t go in there without a lawyer about custody and visitation.
My fiancé went with a lawyer and the judge still was extremely biased we had a fantastic lawyer and bio mom brought zero lawyer he let her speak first didnt matter all the evidence we had against her he looked at us and said weekends are good when we asked for 2-2-3 schedule keep in mind before court we hadn’t seen her in months and even after all the bs she put us through we were helping her physically and financially. because bio mom didn’t like her “playing house” while she distroyed her own relationship keep in mind we been together for over 6 years

Thats the truth keep in mind before we took her to court and she was keeping my step daughter from coming. we had a week on week off schedule agreed by both parties without court the last two summers. In my house i understand i didn’t birth her but i give my girls equal opportunity i want to enroll both girls in gymnastics. As they have been asking to do it for months i cant do it now with weekend we get tears every Sunday why cant i stay more days. And out of love i say every weekend because mommy misses you while we know the truth
@Alyson i totally get where your coming from in court the judge said he can have weekends like it was a burden as he was forced to. Forget all the evidence we had he didn’t care. And the case before ours was so sad with THE EXACT SAME JUDGE a father lost a child due to the mothers negligence received full custody *different judge* the first time. than in their follow up hearing the judge that was present that day said “some took your custody how would you feel about full custody back* KEEP IN MINE THE POOR BABY PASSED DUE TO THE MOM*
They suspended his visitation because he refused to continue without a lawyer. Therefore her lawyer was able to put in all these crazy demands and suspend visitation until these demands are complete. It’s outrageous completely and utterly disgusting
For example. Hair follicle test for drugs. My fiance doesn’t do drugs. BUT she knows he has to pay for it and can’t afford a lawyer as it is let alone $600 for a hair follicle test. That was just one stipulation. He can’t afford it, so he can’t get it right away , he loses visitation until he can either afford it, or afford a lawyer.
@Alyson awww im so sorry thats so wrong☹️they don’t realize how much it hurts kids i truly hope you guys get your visits back we know how hard. Trying to explain to my daughter why sissy cant come home had a lot of tearful nights
@Mary it hurts so bad. He’s the youngest, only 8 years old. We can’t even face time him because she stands in the background recording so he’s afraid to even talk normally.

@Alyson we are experiencing the same thing . The mother either tell him what to say or he’s constantly looking up at her to figure out how to respond . Just plain evil and bitter
Yes!!!! You can see his eyes on FaceTime glance up at her to basically let us know she’s there and he can’t talk freely. It enrages me!!!
@Alyson at one point she our girl is 7 and bio mom didn’t let us talk he called her later in the night he called to speak to bio mom privately and she said well shes asleep you think I’m lying woke her up yelling and screaming “telling him you don’t want to talk tell him your asleep.” While he’s telling her let her sleep stop putting her in the middle and step daughter just wouldn’t stop crying. But again she deserves more days according to a judge
Unfortunately good lawyers have retainers trust me it’s hell but worth it….the lawyer my husband has was I think 3k upfront but he’s very good. I’m sorry but besides car accidents and medical malpractice. All lawyers have to have something up front. Hugs good luck
