Both my babies have been extremely active and at this stage in pregnancy the movements are extremely uncomfortable and painful. I've never had to worry about the movements with either of them. All of the guidance about baby movements is more focused on reduced movements, but it does also say a change in movement so if it is unusual for your baby to be very active then it could be worth seeking advice. But if your baby is always active and following their general trend of movement I wouldn't be concerned. Just a warning though that my first never stopped being active after he was born either 🙈
I had the same last week, four hours of non stop wriggles which got really irritating and i knew it wasn’t normal for them (they are super active but never for four hours straight with no gaps) so phoned triage. Typically as I called them baby settled down! But they did say they’d still recommend going in to be checked because the pattern had changed.
i don’t want to frighten you, as this is JUST my experience… i’ve been to triage for reduced AND increase movement in pregnancy. I had increased movement last thursday, and they sent me home after some CTG monitoring. However, i woke up on the Saturday needing to pee, went to the loo and was peeing blood. i ended up in hospital until this thursday when i was finally discharged. the activeness could have been baby’s response to be being unwell, as now i have to go for scans on my kidneys etc and my body has basically struggled to look after itself and baby, hence the change in movement. he has been pretty much normal since, as i’ve been medicated and on bed rest at home. it really could be nothing but im glad i went in anyway because this could have gone unnoticed if i didnt check the loo every time i pee like a weirdo, as the only other symptom was his change of movement x
I’ve had a very active baby and always asked my midwife if that is normal and been reassured as long as it’s their usual pattern then all is fine.
I’ve asked about this too as the movements are mad! & he doesn’t stop 🙈 she said it was normal xx
Hiii! That has happened to me, and in most cases it’s nothing to worry about as soon as you still feel baby movements in their normal patterns afterwards, meaning that if there is silence from their movements when they should move, then it would be good to contact triage!
