Congratulations! Mine is on Wednesday and would love to be able to reach out to some c section mums after
Congrats! I had one 12 days ago :) x
Thank you. Nice to see everyone commenting. Can I ask what your pain relief was after? What was you taking? Is it normal for you have a little pot belly and it feel tender i feel like the top on my belly around belly button hurts more than the bottom and the gas is unreal lol
I was given Codeine for 7 days and told to take paracetamol and ibruprofen. And yes absolutely normal to feel tender and have trapped wind xx
@Alex okay thank you xx
My son said mummy you still have a baby in your tummy I'm like thanks haha
Yes, on Monday under general anaesthetic. Pain relief is co-dydramol + ibuprofen. Stay on top of it so it doesn't hurt too much. Big belly after is totally normal, I can't see my scar for example. Wind as well, I've been told to have chewing gums.
Congratulations ♥️ I had my baby girl via a planned section this Thursday 16th. Pain relief I am taking is paracetamol naproxen and dihydrocodeine xx
Mine is on Friday!
My c section was on the 30th of December
Congratulations how you feeling today?

@Rachel how you feeling
I had one on Tuesday and feeling remarkably ok already, walking around with relative ease! Just making sure I stay on top of my meds even through the night x
@Sophie, yeah, I'm taking only paracetamol and ibuprofen because codeine was making me feel drowsy and zoned out. I didn't like the feeling.
I had an emergency one last Sunday after 8 hours of active labour not progressing. Still in a lot of pain and got myself a little walking stick thing to help me get up and down off bed/sofa/toilet etc. keeping making the mistake of pushing myself too much as I’m so independent but i end up suffering for it afterwards. trying to remind myself it is a major surgery and I need to let myself recover but it’s hard!
I had one 11 days ago - had dihydrocodeine, paracetamol and ibuprofen, plus peppermint water/pills for the trapped wind. The first couple of days were tough, being so slow, being unable to bend/pick things up and going to the toilet was a struggle (just to sit down and stand up again). But with rest, patience and light activity, I'm feeling so much better now. Have been going for walks the last few days and every day we're going further. Feeling more independent definitely!
@Nikki where did you get rhe peppermint water from? I need that
I have mine in 3 days and im extremely nervous! Im more worried about my recovery..
@Mahdis recovery is hard, but with the support and meds, you will be fine.
I had a planned section 5 weeks ago I was worried about the recovery but didn’t have any problems at all
@Natalie I requested it at the hospital, it needed a doctor to sign off so it took a little while but had 2 doses there which definitely helped
I’m going in for my elective C - section in the am! Will update on recovery ❤️🩹 all I’ve been told is keep up on the meds and take it easy!
I have mine on Thursday absolutely dreading the recovery i think because I’ve had such a painful pregnancy, I’ve suffered with PGP since very early on and now I can’t actually get to bathroom unaided I rely on crutches to move and I’m just done with it I’ve had enough of all this pain nothing left in the tank so the thought of more pain and discomfort is just making me ill x
@Gia yes for sure! Good luck for tomorrow morning x
@Lisa oh no that's terrible! The recovery might not be so bad when you definitely won't be needing crutches for this recovery and keep drugged up and you will be fine! Good Luck for Thursday xx
I had my planned c section on Thursday 16th. Had one night in hospital but with my first planned c section I had 5 days due to how bad the pain was. This time around I am on a strict pain relief regime: diclofenac suppository every 16 hours, dihydrocodiene every 6 hours, paracetamol every 4. Windeeze tablets helped with wind pain. Pepper mint tea and Lactulose helped with first bowel movement. Eat high finer diet: dates, brown bread, lots of veg. My mobility is still slow and I am still needing assistant to get out of bed. Partner still passing me baby at night when I need her. C section recovery is really really tough be kind to yourself xx
