@Kiera personally don’t like the idea of having him in the front so young (each to their own) but not for me. I know booster isn’t an option. He’s been told off multiple times and already tried turning the buckle cover around. Could try Velcro x
I have this problem too!
@Laura if he’s rear facing it’s just as safe in the front, provided your airbags can go off just for info. Other than that, there isn’t much else to try. All buckles have to undo under a certain amount of pressure so they can be undone quickly in an emergency x
Might just have to give it a go. I don’t have isofix in the front of my car only the back but I imagine in the instructions there must be a way of strapping the seat in with the seatbelt of the car. I am still baffled how he even has the strength to do it 🤣x
@Laura not with the seat you have no if you don’t have isofix, it’s isofix only unfortunately x
@Kiera I don’t think this is the case with every seat. Because my new born car seat was isofix base or could be strapped in with the seatbelt
@Laura yes it’s only infant carriers that have that option, not next stage seats x
@Kiera no front seat sitting for him for now then😂x
@Laura there is no way to seatbelt this seat in its isofix only and the seat is very poorly tested and mass produced it will be due to his fit in the seat that he is escaping. As for this seat lasting until it’s 12 it doesn’t the harness is outgrown at 18kg/105cm which is above 50th centile for height and weight he will reach far too early. A better choice of seat will stop him escaping.
@Hannah already been said👍🏼 & I didn’t buy this seat expecting him to use it until he’s twelve. He is 2 so that’s irrelevant to me saying that right now. I stuck with Ickle bubba because his buggy and previous car seat was Ickle bubba and we had no issues with them. There is nothing wrong with his fit/how I fit him into the seat😂 and makes absolutely no difference to him being able to press a big red button regardless of brand. But thanks for no advice?
@Anusha what car seat do you use?
@Laura can you not see the bit under where I put him escaping? That’s advice. I put try putting Velcro over the buckle deters them from doing it apparently
@Hannah you’ve given me a bunch of information I didn’t ask for. I asked for advice to deter him from getting out of the seat. Not advice on a seat being for up to a 12 year old when my son is currently 2. You didn’t previously write anything about Velcro
Is putting him in the front with you an option so you can keep an eye on him? At 2 years old, definitely not a booster seat, not until 5+. A good telling off, can you turn the buckle cover around? Velcro on the buckle to deter him x
