Surgery & periods

Hello I’m just looking for a bit of advice, I’m due to have my 1st laparoscopy tomorrow and I’ve just come on my period, I’m unable to contact anyone as day surgery isn’t open on weekends , does anyone know if my surgery will still be able to go ahead ? Thankyou in advance 💗

I've had surgery while on my period. It doesn't really affect what they're doing in there. 😊

I’ve been researching all afternoon but get very mixed opinions😩

I had my surgery in March last year and I was on my period when having it (mine was towards the end of my period). I’d say call up first thing in the morning and see what they say. 🤞 everything goes well x

@Kyah Barnes thankyou so much I was supposed to have my surgery 3 weeks ago and they cancelled it , so hoping it’s able to go ahead , but thankyou again Xx

I've unfortunately been on my period for all my endo surgeries and they can still do it - good luck xx

I've had 3 lots of surgery and being on your period hasn't effected any of them.

Thankyou so much everyone 💗

Hope it went well. I thin its better to already have first day of period behind you as its quite common to get your period early directly or a few days after the op and that can be v painful with the recovery on top.

@Alex yes surgery went well thankyou , they found minimal endometriosis and managed to remove it all. My surgeon said that having my period was not a problem at all. But have my regular period pains on top pain after surgery isn’t great but each day is getting easier! X
