How old is he?
Depending how old he is, I’d say he’s maybe ready to potty train :)
My 2yo does this, refuses diapers and she will specifically ask for underwear. We’ve been in the process of potty training for a couple of months now. I’d say when he does this, put some little undies or boxers on him, whatever training pants or some shorts on him and when he makes a mess explain it to him “uh oh, baby went pee pee on the floor! Where does peepee go? In the potty!” And let him help you clean it up and eventually they’ll get the correlation. My 2yo now tells us when she has to potty but doesn’t always make it or tells us after she already went lol
When he did that I just went w the flow and got him undies. He’s been toilet trained since 2y3m so I don’t know how old yours is you didn’t say.
How old are they? For awhile my son hated diapers, I think it was more an independence/control thing. I would say something like, ah you’re not ready. I hear you. I’ll give you 5 then I’ll be back to put the diaper on. I’d usually have to wrestle him to put it on lol. BUT if they’re showing signs of readiness, let them go naked for a few days (I’ve found that putting undies on too soon can confuse them) and practice putting them on the potty 5-10 min after they drink
