Need HELP! Fussiness, milk questions, all the things

Ever since baby started regular whole milk she has been super fussy. She doesn’t sleep well (never really has), but has gotten SO much worse. I’m losing my mind over here!! She cries all day everyday and is up 2-3x a night and up for the day at 5am. I’m a working mom of two and I’m struggling with this sleep deprivation, constant stress and constant crying and whining. She’s also been a nightmare at daycare for a couple weeks. I’m just so confused as to what’s going on since she was ok the first couple weeks on the milk and now it’s just fussy fussy fussy and super constipated. Did anyone deal with something similar? Is anyone familiar with making the switch to soy milk? Maybe that’s not even the issue but idk anymore.

Possible milk intolerance was my first thought based on your post. We haven’t switched to whole milk yet but it might be worth mentioning to her pediatrician since you’ve noticed it started when you introduced milk.

@Timber thought that too but wouldn’t she be having severe GI symptoms?

My son was never able to do regular milk formula. He also can’t do soy. We’re keeping him on his goat milk formula for now. I don’t think he’s ready to wean off that yet. He isn’t really getting enough calories from food yet and we will probably never do regular milk. They have a toddler formula we will probably switch to after the infant and keep him on that for awhile. I imagine he would have a similar reaction if we tried to switch his formula for whole milk right now as well.

@Nicole not always it could be making her stomach cramp or other not visible symptoms. Vomiting and diarrhea/constipation are only a few GI symptoms

@Jessie what were his symptoms with regular milk formula? She was always on regular milk formula that’s why I’m confused as to why milk would cause this

@Nicole Oh really? It made him very constipated and gave him eczema. I think it generally upset his stomach.

But I think formula At least has stuff to help their tummies. Whole milk is a big change. Can you try switching back and see if it fixes her fussiness?

I was thinking of switching to a toddler formula milk alternative. Did your LO have any problem switching to goat?

Yeah that’s probably what I’d do if she’s eating a good amount of food. It took him a minute to get used to the goat I think. Maybe a week. But that might have just been cause he was out of sorts from the milk formula.

He was sick from it or just didn’t like the taste?

No it didn’t make him sick. Just took him a minute to love it I think.

@Jessie thanks so much for all the info!

My pediatrician said it how many oz of cows milk a day matters too and usually shouldn’t exceed 24oz or else they can get really constipated and so forth
