I would discuss this with your doctor or midwife so you can make an informed decision on rather you wish to have an induction or not 😊
Not all the time, there are definitely instances where inductions are successful. Equally there are times when they aren’t successful. It’s all down to the individual/their body and their circumstances. I’d suggest talking it through with your midwife/consultant. They can’t tell you whether or not to do it, however they can advise you of all angles - ie if there’s a medical reason it would benefit you/baby etc.
Statistically you are more likely to have more interventions following an induction. If you choose an induction you just need to make sure you have done your research, decide if you want an epidural and to ask for it early enough as an induced labour is more painful, how far you’re happy to go with an induction ect. I went in completely unprepared as my induction wasn’t planned, there were plenty of signs that it wasn’t going to go smoothly but I didn’t know better so went along with it and ended up with a C-section. On the hand, there were other women induced at the same time as me who seemed to have smooth labours.
I have 3 kids (4th due April) and every one of my labours so far have been an induction and all completely different experiences. None have needed intervention in so far as forceps but my last got close to needing a section. It really just depends on your individual circumstances at the time x
I got Induced with my first and there was no complications or interventions or complications during his birth I needed stitches at the end cause i teared due to him being a big baby but that is it xx
